We have had a very good start for the first year of our garden club.  The allotments and raised beds have produced produce which has been used in the college diner, as well as being sold to staff.  We have grown: carrots, onions, potatoes, cabbages, celery, beetroot, spring onions, pumpkins, lettuce and rocket to name but a few.  There have also been a lovely crop of cut flowers, some of which have regularly adorned the staff room.

Since starting in March, we have achieved the level 3 in the RHS schools benchmark scheme, and we have received a ‘highly commended’ certificate in the York City Council allotment/garden competition.

The garden is now open for key stage 3 pupils to enjoy at lunchtimes, and the numbers attending the Thursday gardening club are growing.
