Textiles & Fashion Design
Textiles & fashion design is taught within the Art & Design curriculum at Key Stage 3. Students then have the option to study it for a further 2 years leading to a GCSE qualification. This course teaches students techniques such as silk painting, printmaking, batik, soft sculpture and embroidery. These techniques are then applied to commercial and artistic artefacts like cushions, wall hangings, items of clothing and accessories.
All children are artists. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.” Pablo Picasso
