Main Reception
The first port of call for all visitors to Burnholme College! Main desk staffed at all times by a receptionist, with a student helper each day to attend to visitors.
Drama Studio
Brand new and purpose-built, with a floating floor, the Drama Studio was opened in 2004 by the playwright Sir Alan Ayckborn. Linked to a modern digital recording studio next door, this is a fantastic facility.
MUGA
Our superb Multi Use Games Area, a fantastic all-weather pitch which is floodlit at night and used by the school and the local community. A £400,000 investment two years ago, already paying dividends in terms of a healthier school and more active students.
Conference Centre
The flagship area of Burnholme College! Our £100,000 Conference Centre is available for business hire, training, ICT and Internet use. See the separate page for details.
School Library
The Library Resource Centre has a huge variety of books and reference material. It also contains 14 broadband internet PC workstations for student and staff enquiries.
Computer Suite
Built with £90,000 of Business & Enterprise finance, this state of the art Computer Suite is comprehensively equipped with 30 workstations and data projection.
Science Labs
Four extensively equipped and recently refurbished science laboratories are situated around this area. Each one has full scientific specification and has Data Projection and Interactive Smart Board as standard.
Playing Fields
A large amount of green space, kept in pristine condition by our contracted ground staff. The flagship event is Sports Day, but the playing fields are also used regularly by the local community.
Gymnasium
A typical school gymnasium. Wall bars, football nets, rubber mats, basketball nets - all available to create a sporting ethos, and to develop healthy minds and bodies.
School Hall
Used for everything from assemblies to pantomimes! The bright, airy and tastefully decorated school hall plays host to visiting speakers, enterprise days, community activites and theatre productions.
Nursery
The Nursery at Burnholme is an independent business in its own right, with a dedicated staff and approximately 30 children, ranging from babies at 3 months to 5 year old children. A very positive OFSTED report recently was well-deserved.
Sports Hall
Burnholme College's Sports Hall is a modern, purpose - built facility which hosts badminton, basketball, 5-a-side football, cricket nets and a wealth of other sporting activity.
Car Park
Car parking is free at Burnholme College. There are overflow parks to the front of the school, and in front of the Youth Centre. All car parks are protected by 24 hour digital surveillance equipment, constantly monitored.
