Burnholme Nursery is an independent nursery on the main school site. We provide places for children between the ages of 3 months and 5 years. The Nursery day begins at 8am and a wide range of play and learning activities are made available throughout the day. We go outdoors to play every day - weather permitting. We also have a small garden where the children enjoy planting bulbs and seeds.

Play and learning activities are interrupted only by a mid morning drink and snack, lunch, mid-afternoon drink and tea, and activities continue until 5.30 when the Nursery closes.

Burnholme Nursery operates within the framework of an equal opportunities policy, and all activites take into account a child's religion, racial origin, gender, cultural and linguistic background. The Nursery welcomes all children irrespective of their abilities.

We employ qualified and /or experienced staff who have a genuine understanding of the needs of children. Staff have access to and are encouraged to participate in, regular training,

Burnholme Nursery is registered with Early Years OFSTED. they carry out an annual inspection as specified in the Children's Act 1989. We are a registered provider under the City of York's Early Years Development and Childcare Plan and parents of eligible 3 and 4 year olds are able to access funded early education.

Young children learn effectively through play and we provide a programme which builds upon the skills, knowledge and experience of each individual child. It is a planned and purposeful balance of activities which develops the whole child, and is firmly placed in an environment which promotes positive attitudes and values for life.  For further information please visit www.burnholme-nursery.com
